End of day routine
We would like to remind parents about the routine for picking up children at the end of each day. We appreciate that parents use this time to catch up with each other, however, it has been noted that some parents are remaining in the playground for a long time after school has ended. The school gates are closed by 15:45 and parents are kindly asked to be off the site by this time.
As you will appreciate, we run a number of after-school clubs each day, so having extra adults who are not officially ‘signed in’ on the site at this time is a safeguarding concern.
It has been noted that some parents of children who have siblings in after-school clubs are staying in the playground for the hour until 16:30, in order to collect their children. For the reason given above, this is not appropriate. If your child is in a club, you are asked to leave the school site and return at 16:25 for collection.
As a general reminder, parents should only be on the school site during the times that the gates are open (08:40-09:00 and 15:20-15:45), unless they have a specific reason eg early pick-ups.
Parents that come on to the school site for any length of time during the day, for example to read with children, need to follow the signing-in procedure at the office.
As this is a matter of child safety, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
