Spring 1- COMING SOON
World War 1
Take cover! It’s 1914 and Britain is at war. Deep down in the trenches, the army is fighting but it all stops… just for Christmas. Everyone helps to do their bit for the war because YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU.
Working alongside Historian Peter Daniel, we’ll aim to mark the twin anniversaries of the Armistice 11.11.18 and the opportunity for women to vote for the first time in the 1918 khaki election. To mark this key milestone for women we will visit Parliament's Westminster Great Hall to see the Voice and Vote exhibition and also a trip to Brompton Cemetery where a group of actresses will lead a session as suffragettes from Emmeline Pankhurst grave. Our writing will show off all our new knowledge and vocabulary!
During the remainder of the Spring Term, personalised home learning will be given out following booster sessions, several times per week.
